LEWIS MORGAN had to settle for a place on the bench on Tuesday night for Sunderland when the Black Cats took on Blackpool.

Sunderland were down 1-0 at home to the seaside club at the time and things were looking bleak. Morgan replaced former Celtic player Aiden McGeady who didn’t have his best game for the English club.

Morgan came on and showed an aptitude to get on the ball and get forward when he could to break down a stubborn Blackpool side. His loan side eventually got their reward with a 75th minute equaliser through Jack Baldwin but then failed to get a winner.

It was certainly two points dropped for the promotion chasing Sunderland.

There are quite a number of ex-Celts at the Stadium of Light; Aiden McGeady, Adam Matthews and Dylan McGeough all play their football for the Black Cats.

It was a quiet game for Lewis and he’ll be hoping to get a start at the weekend and help the team push on.
