It was a disappointing result for Sunderland on Saturday afternoon as the Black Cats conceded an 87th minute equaliser away to Oxford City.

However, it was another top outing for Celtic loan start Lewis Morgan who started his second game in a row for the English side.

Morgan was getting the plaudits from fans throughout the game and was substituted when Sunderland were still in a winning position. To be playing at a good level already for his loan club with very little game time is great to hear.

Some Sunderland took to social media to praise the young Celtic winger with one fan declaring current attacking midfielder Lynden Gooch will struggle to hold down a place in the team if Lewis continues to perform.

There was a very definite Celtic connection in the Sunderland side today with Morgan joining Aiden McGeady and Adam Matthews in the starting XI.

Lewis is looking to help is former St Mirren boss Jack Ross gain promotion to the Championship like the pair got the Paisley side promoted to the SPFL last season.
