REPORTS down south suggest Crystal Palace are about to test Celtic’s resolve when it comes to Jozo Simunovic.

The Celtic defender who famously nearly signed with Italian side Torino a year and a half ago has missed Celtic’s last few games before the winter break and was not used in the Glasgow Derby.

This has alerted Palace who have been watching the player for some time, with the club needing all hands on deck to keep Premier League survival they are willing to pay upwards of £7million for the player.

If that bid does come in then Celtic would find it very hard to resist, especially if the manager’s plans is ultimately not to have Jozo at the club a bit further down the line.

If this move comes to fruition could it earn a reprieve for Erik Sviatchenko who has been told by the manager that he can find another club?

Celtic are not rich in defenders and if Jozo and Erik were to go, it would leave a massive gap even with Marvin Compper signed up.
