It has been a long time coming, but Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has returned to training after his injury lay-off.

The club released a photo of the Frenchman making his return to training after it was confirmed by Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou this morning, and fans appear to be delighted with the news judging by the comments on the social media post.

Jullien has been out injured since the final game of 2020 when he collided with the post against Dundee United, and it has been a long road to recovery for the 28-year old.

Whilst he still remains a few weeks off competitive action for Postecoglou’s side as he looks to build up his match fitness, it will come as a massive boost to the former Socceroos boss to have an option like Jullien back fit.

Defensively, it hasn’t been the ideal start to the season in the first few months of Ange’s reign. So, this gives him another option who he can turn to in central defence.

It will be interesting to see what sort of partnership is created when Jullien comes back into the side in the next few months. For now, though, it is good to see him back out with the first team again.
