Luis Palma has been added to Olympiacos’ Europa league knockout squad.

Olympiacos, who finished 7th in the Europa League table, a place above Rangers, will miss the knockout playoffs and instead already have a place booked in the last 16. They will face one of the following teams: Twente, Fenerbahçe, Anderlecht, or Bodø/Glimt. The first leg of their tie will be played on March 6th, with the return leg at home on March 13th, with the draw for the last 16 taking place on February 21st.

Given Olympiacos won the Europa Conference League last season, they appear to be one of the dark horses in the Europa League this season, with Palma set for an incredible opportunity to win a European trophy in Greece.

Palma is yet to make his Olympiacos debut, having been on the bench for last night’s 1-0 win over Panathinaikos in the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup.

With a reported £3.3 million option to buy at the end of his loan deal, Palma will be hoping that his return to Greece is successful.

With Jota having since taken his number 7 shirt, the Honduran’s future at Celtic appears likely to be decided in the summer. At Olympiacos, he has the chance to win trophies with a team that is currently top of the Greek Super League, four points clear of second-placed AEK Athens.
