Celtic winger Luis Palma has had a tough time at the club of late, with the Honduran failing to displace Daizen Maeda in the starting 11.
This is both due to Maeda’s incredible recent form and Palma’s lacklustre performances.
The Honduran international particularly failed to impress in a rare start against Falkirk in a 5-2 win just under a fortnight ago, with his substitution ultimately leading to the Hoops turning the game around from 2-1 down to the Championship side when he was substituted for Hyun-jun Yang.
The Daily Record reports that Palma is committed to staying at Celtic long-term, despite being previously linked with a January move away.
The Record also reports that he will look to ‘take a break from social media and focus on recovering his form.’
Palma’s consistent social media posts were more than okay when he was in a great run of form last season at this stage, but since his form has deteriorated, he has faced criticism and unwanted attention over his posts.
Given his poor recent performances, his promise to take a break highlights that he is committed to the club and sees himself regaining his place in the starting 11, with Daizen Maeda starting ahead of him against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park.
Palma will look to make an impact against Borussia Dortmund this evening off the bench, with his best form coming in the Champions League last season.
He could very well reignite his Hoops career in Europe’s premier competition tonight in Germany.
