BRENDAN RODGERS can’t be accused of making too many mistakes at Celtic so far but a lot of Celtic fans have been on social media criticising the Irishman’s decision to loan out Ryan Christie.

The midfielder has been in good form this season and showed again at the weekend what he can do with the ball at his feet.

Ryan is due back at Celtic Park in the summer but fans wish we had the young lad to call on now as Celtic second half of the season goes full tilt.

Ryan has had his quiet games at Aberdeen, not to mention he was part of the sides that have capitulated against the Rangers over the past few months also.

Some fans may just have rose tinted glasses for the player while he’s out of sight most of the time.

  1. Surely BR has been vindicated in loaning him? He has gained the type of experience from the loan spell that he requires….hardly madness. As for Musonda, he will find his feet.

  2. Rodgers has made more than a few mistakes but generally gets away with them. However, Christie may not return to Celtic at all, even though he should be in the first team now, apparently Rodgers does not rate him that highly. Brendan has a stubborn streak and ryan may decide that Pittodrie is where he is best valued. What is madness is after 4 transfer window Celtic go into an EL game with the defence in the state that it is in. That a minimal effort has been made to rectify the situation. That is criminal and a failure of management form boardroom to dugout. Celtic have been garbage for months and the reason is the European displays earlier this season, which are a permanent stain and shame on the club’s history. This has knocked the confidence from almost all of the players and has result ed in months of poor, apathetic, boring and substandard performances. Make no mistake the team are terrified at facing Zenit. It could be humiliating on Thursday. I don’t think Rodger’s has a clue what he is going to do. But failing to sign defenders is the managers and the boards doing.

    • See the usual suspects are on with their magical managerial hindsight, 1 treble heading for a 2nd 2 champs league group stages 1 Europa league last 32 place, 69 game unbeaten run an invincible season and only 2 defeats in 19 months domestically, yes we really are doing badly John and Mr I’m never happy I moan about everything kelly HH.

  3. Thought the decision to loan Christie out at the time was a strange one and so its proved. Definitely not confident about facing Zenit on Thursday as the defence is all over the place and it could well be a backs to the wall scenario although we will score goals.

  4. yes BR has made more than a few mistakes playing Biton at Killie instead of bringing on Gamboa and moving Hendry to CB leaving Sinclair and Forrest on and playing 2up front and pushing Musunda wide then on Sat playing lustig guy is nitemare also letting Christie go to Aberdeen silly worry that we wont c him again in Celtic jersey no disrespect to Compner why sign CB when he cant play in Europe sorry cut this crap in Brendan we trust

    • What moaning gits you are John and grumpy kelly why don’t we just go back to the days of Tony Mowbray or Lou macari to see what bad really is, you moany fairweather supporters

  6. I agree Charles ‘In Brendan we trust’ is very Sevco-esque. The guy is not a God and needs to accept his mistakes. The run was great but he was playing against no bodies every week. When he has been challenged he has mainly failed. His record at liverpool in the CL and EL is not good. It is all very well beating Motherwell, Sevco and Dundee but his CL performances have saw managers of clubs of a similar size to Celtic sacked. I am not advocating he be sacked before anyone starts. However, Celtic are no different to where they were under Ronny Deila at the moment and something is not right at the club. Thursday is an opportunity but it is also a potential nightmare.

The best measure of where we are is the last five games not the previous 75 games. What do you see that is encouraging. Clearly you are a new celtic supporter and are unaware of the clubs woeful history of failing to strengthen when on top which has cost us throughout our history. beating pub teams for 69 games did very little for us when in came to playing football teams. Oh but you are happy to be in it. it does matter that Glasgow Celtic lose 7 and 6 goals in European competition, like the fat kid at the school sports happy to be in it for the participation ribbon as every one laughs at us. For what? money in the bank where it stays as the club have given up and are happy to beat Motherwell, Sevco and Ross County. Stand still and you die.
