KIERAN TIERNEY will NOT play any part of Celtic’s game on Saturday as was reported this morning.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed his star defender will need to be assessed more before they know how long he is going to be out for.

The player has been missing since Celtic’ final Europa League game in December where Tierney looked uncomfortable throughout. Celtic fans thought the player would be back for the Glasgow Derby but the defender only made the bench, and that was just because Rodgers needed options.

Since then, the Celtic manager has made sure the player has received treatment for an ongoing hip injury and will not rush Kieran back until he’s ready to go.

The defender didn’t train at all in Dubai, and there’s no indication of when we will know when the player is due back yet.

It’s a blow for Celtic because Kieran’s game really shapes the side; defending and attacking in equal measure makes the left-hand side dynamic

The Celtic manager has fallen into the trap of changing his starting XI shape to disastrous effect. Twice Celtic have played away from home in December with just three at the back has resulted in two losses at Easter Road and Ibrox.

WIll Izzy come back into the side for a straight swap until Kieran is ready?

  1. I hope I am wrong but if KT needs an operation on his hip injury, It looks like his season is over, As I said, I hope I am wrong.

  2. I’m sure it’s a result of the clash with Benkovic in a recent game – he looked really hurt as a high ball dropped between them
