REPORTS today suggest Patrick Roberts is about to lace up his boots and pull on the Hoops for the first time since November in a developmental game at Cappielow this evening.

Celtic will take on Partick Thistle as they look to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat to Aberdeen last week and look like they will call on the services of the tricky winger to do so.

There was a real fear Roberts Celtic career was as good as over in November when the Englishman first went down with the injury – since then, thanks to top rehab and hard work he’s ahead of schedule.

If he were to come through the game tonight unscathed then he may enter Brendan Rodgers thoughts for a place on the bench on Sunday.

However, it’s more likely that the Celtic manager won’t rush Roberts back that quickly but could certainly see game time in Celtic’s midweek game next week or the home Scottish Cup tie against Morton.

The developmental game kicks off at 6pm this evening.

  1. Wasn’t it a home game against Killie on 28th October ? Chris Burke pulled him to the left as he was running forward, taking him off his stride and pinging his hamstring!
