It has been announced that the St Mirren tie which was postponed due to Boli Bolingoli’s trip to Spain last month will be played on September 16.

The bhoys are two games behind at the moment but this game would put them within one with the Aberdeen game still to go ahead.

Celtic were set to play St Mirren in Paisley when the news of Boli’s trip to Spain without quarantining came to light. This led to crunch talks between the SPFL and government who did not want to see Celtic playing any games for a seven day period. Two games were put on ice and while Celtic have kept pace with the games they’ve played, they’re still trailing six points with two games in hand.

It’s a busy season for the club and cramming so many games in isn’t ideal but it is necessary.

Hopefully, Neil Lennon will make full use of his squad in the next few months to get the best out of them.

Celtic will go further behind with games played in November when they play last years Scottish cup semi final. If they make it to the final, that means another postponement in the league in December. It’s going tight.
