Celtic need to add real quality to the side in January if they are to continue their upward trajectory.

The club will also have to move some players on.

RecordSport journalist Scott Burns has claimed Daizen Maeda coming in from Yokohoma Marinos is ‘likely’. If Maeda does come in, we should expect Albian Ajeti to move on.

We got the thoughts of a prominent Japanese based journalist on the potential move for Maedaread here.

Burns said: “Maeda is another player Ange Postecoglou knows well and if he comes in, which is likely, or another striker then January will be a time for Albian Ajeti to go out the door.’

Over and above that, Burns has said Celtic will bring two or three players in the door during the January window to hopefully help push the squad on with much more input from Ange Postecoglou.

The journalist claims Ange is looking heavily towards the English market for signings in the new year. Likely English championship level players, given our financial restraints when it comes to trying to bag Premier League players.

January is going to be an interesting month for the club. Before then, we have to stay in touch at the top so we can push the title race all the way.
