MOTHERWELL have used their official website to announce that the club will receive an initial 12,700 briefs for the Scottish Cup Final which could grow to 15,000 if the demand is there.

This leaves Celtic with a substantial amount of tickets, around 10,000 more than they had for the semi final against Rangers*.

Many Celtic fans who had been to all previous rounds before the semi final missed out on a ticket even though they were on the home cup ticket scheme – Celtic advertised the HCTS as a major advantage to getting tickets to cup games. The extra final tickets will ensure a large majority of the support can attend the event.

Motherwell’s tickets go on sale this Friday – Celtic shouldn’t be far behind in announcing details for fans.

Motherwell have until May 8th to let the powers that be know if they will need the extra allocation.

Speaking to the Motherwell website their chief executive agreed to be flexible.

“We have worked extremely hard over the last week to get as many tickets as possible for this match, whilst agreeing to be flexible depending on how sales are going.

Like the Betfred Cup Final back in November, we have agreed to sell them block by block and request B4 and B5 in the west stand if we sell out in time.

“After prolonged negotiations, we have managed to secure tickets in top tier of the south stand, above Motherwell fans, which was extremely important to us.

“I would urge as many ‘Well fans as possible to get their tickets as early to avoid disappointment and to maximise the potential support at the final.”
