David Turnbull who was so close to signing for Celtic there’s an unreleased interview of the player in a Celtic shirt sitting alongside Neil Lennon talking about his delight at becoming a Celtic player has finally returned to full training.
The midfielder’s on again, off again move to Celtic in the summer got pretty tedious. At one point Celtic released a Twitter statement after it appeared Turnbull had rejected Celtic to move to Norwich.
While he was down in Norwich he had a change of heart and instructed his agent to make the move to Celtic happen.
When things were all agreed, the player was inside the stadium and everything but the medical was in order. Turnbull went off to do his medical and after a day of no announcements, something was clearly up.
A medical flagged an issue on the player’s knee which needed surgery. Celtic tried to loan him from Motherwell with an option to buy but the Steelmen wouldn’t go for it.
Nine months after that medical, the player is now only back in full training and could make his comeback before the end of the season.
Motherwell’s David Turnbull has returned to full training and completed an 11v11 match for the first time since his injury.

Will Neil Lennon be in for him this summer?
No, no, no, no, no , no!
We do not need him and do not want him.
That bullet was dodged.
If the manager wants him the manager gets him….
