BRENDAN RODGERS is unlikely to risk Celtic’s record signing Odsonne Edouard for the trip to Lithuania with the player still struggling with an ankle strain.

The Frenchman picked up the injury during Celtic’s travels to Athens last week where he was pulled from training immediately when he picked up the knock.

Edouard played no part in Celtic’s 3-1 victory over Partick Thistle at the weekend and now looks likely to miss the Suduva game on Thursday.

There is no need to rush the player back when Griffiths and Dembele are both fit for the bhoys travels.

It’s believed the striker could play some part in the second leg of the tie at the end of August – bringing him back just in time for a potential Glasgow Derby appearance.

Celtic head to Lithuania hoping to secure a win which will see them put one foot in the Europa League group stage.
