It looks like any hopes of having Tom Rogic for the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox has evaporated after the latest comments from Australia Managers latest comments.

Graham Arnold has told Socceroos fans there will be no exceptions for latecomers to the team and he expects his team to assemble after boxing day fixtures.

Asked if he would be giving Tom the extra time to play in the important Derby, Arnold was straight to the point.

“The Wizard of Oz WILL be there. I spoke to Tom on Tuesday and he’s great, just fantastic.” he told SunSport.

“The Fifa rules are that the players can come in on December 24. We are giving them an extra game on Boxing Day.

“But it’s one rule for everyone. I spent eight weeks in Europe recently, going around all the clubs.

“We had great communication with the clubs and it’s good for the players to play on Boxing Day.”

Celtic have a tie with Aberdeen on Boxing day but after that, the midfielder will have to get on a flight and head for the Australian training camp as the Socceroos get ready for the Asia Cup.

Depending on how far Australia get, Tom could miss four games after the winter break as well as the Glasgow Derby.

Very disappointing from a Celtic perspective.
