Premier Sports could be set for a Glasgow Derby rescheduling headache with the news that fixtures may be moved from their original time slots next Saturday.

Yesterday, it was revealed that the SFA were in talks with all respective parties about the possibility of rescheduling several Scottish Cup 4th round ties, including the Glasgow Derby between Celtic and Rangers due to the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral taking place on the same day at 3 PM.

This has left Scottish Cup TV providers, Premier Sports with a bit of a scheduling headache.

As cited by the Daily Record, at this stage it looks like Premier may have to move the game to the day after next Sunday. However, the problem with that is the subscription-based sports channel also currently have a deal in the UK that they must show six Serie A with several of those being broadcast on the 18th.

As it stands, next Sunday Premier will be showing Milan vs Genoa, Torino vs Roma, Napoli vs Inter and Atlanta vs Juventus, as well as one Scottish Cup tie with Livingston facing Aberdeen.

Of course, a game of the magnitude of the Glasgow Derby will be accommodated the most, due to the figures that it is likely to bring in.

One possibility is to play the game as a night fixture, but even without fans that seems unlikely to be given the go-ahead.

Those involved in the process clearly have some work to do, ahead of next weeks massive fixture.
