ANGE POSTECOGLOU has delivered a major boost to Celtic fans tonight as he suggest Kyogo might not be out for long.

The manager was keen to stress there was no timeframe and a scan was taking place but after initial assessment the Japanese star isn’t being ruled out for Sunday’s game against Motherwell.

Speaking to RecordSport, Ange seemed positive:

“He’ll get scanned today (Saturday) and I don’t want to put a time frame on it.

“We don’t think it is anything serious but as to whether he will be available for Sunday, we probably won’t know until tomorrow.

“I’ll make a decision then but nothing is confirmed.”

IF Kyogo looks ok for tomorrow, is there still an argument for giving him the day off to make sure he’s fresh for the cup final?

Celtic need to keep pace in the SPFL and to have the striker in the team would be an obvious boost.

Ange is not one to take risks with injured players. Given Kyogo underwent a scan on Saturday, the turnover time to play on Sunday still seems slim.

If he’s going to shake the injury off quickly, getting ready for the weeks ahead will be pivotal.

Celtic have a League Cup Final next Sunday and to have the wee man back would be a major boost.

We’ll see what the first team squad brings but there’s a good chance Celtic don’t start with a natural striker on the day.

Having Jota definitely ruled out for the cup final is already a blow, if Kyogo also didn’t make it, we’d be up against it.
