Manchester City and Scotland youngster Cieran Slicker has claimed that former City number 1 Joe Hart is his ‘idol’.
The young goalie is a starter for Man City’s squad that competes in the Premier League 2 and represents Scotland under-21s. Aged 19 is highly rated by Pep Guardiola and has been named on the bench by the Spanish manager in the Champions League this season.
Joe Hart was one of the best keepers in the division, but a change of managers saw a change of system, which spelt the end for the English keeper. He found it tog to find his feet, but at Celtic, the keeper has been top class both on and off the pitch. It’s no surprise that upcoming goalkeepers idolise the guy.
In a series Man City run, where the fans get the chance to learn about their players, Slicker revealed that there is ‘nobody better’ than Celtic’s number 15.
“He’s my idol. Growing up watching him when I was ball-boying. I’ve been lucky enough to speak to him a bit over the past few years which is really nice and getting to know him a little bit and obviously giving me advice.
“But yes there’s nobody better in my opinion and obviously from City and stuff the career he’s had is amazing.”
