Neil Lennon may have had his hand forced somewhat with his team selection and shape for yesterdays Scottish Cup derby clash with Partick Thistle. James Forrest, Kris Ajer, Mikey Johnston were all noticeable absentees yesterday.

The good news is that the manager has said Ajer and Johnston will be back for a visit to Rugby Park on Wednesday evening and there is a chance for Forrest too but he will need further assessment. With Celtic returning to three games a week the management team will want as many options available to them as possible.

Nir Bitton limped off in the first half yesterday with what looked like a hamstring injury. On the positive side, the game saw Greg Taylor, Tom Rogic, Leigh Griffiths & Daniel Arzani and Jozo Simunovic all enter into first-team plans for the forthcoming fixture pile up. New striker signing Paddy Klimala also made a debut and competition for places should bring out the best in players.
