Joe hart pulled off some magnificent saves in Thursday Night’s game in Seville. Wearing the captain’s armband, the shot-stopper ensured the number of goals conceded was kept to a minimum.

His performance left some fans questioning if he was playing like he was during his prime with Manchester Coty and his country.

Admirers of his performance stretched from fans to the opposition manager. Hart and Pellegrini worked together when the pair were and the Ethihad together, and under his management, the seventy-five capped keeper won the Premier League Golden Glove award.

Speaking post-match, the Real Betis gaffer had this to say on Joe Hart’s influential performance; [Macara]

“We had at least three or four [attempts] that Joe Hart saved very well in the first half. We didn’t convert them, but at least we managed to even the score. We corrected in the second half and went 4-2 to win.”

Normally conceding four goals some blame would lie on the keeper, but Hart was not at fault for any of the goals, and it’s safe to say the difference between himself and Barkas or Bain in goals is immense. I am scared to think what the scoreline could have been if either if the keepers on the bench had started. Hart has demonstrated he is a vital player within the Celtic squad.
