MARTIN COMPSTON took part in Soccer Aid on Sunday evening and the Celtic daft actor did not disappoint as he helped a World XI beat the England XI on penalty kicks.

Compston, who has played more games at Celtic Park than Marvin Compper took to the Stamford Bridge pitch to take part in the charity event and his homage to Celtic became clear straight away when he revealed the number on his back.

Martin had chosen the number 67 for his squad number – paying homage to the Lisbon Lions who won the European Cup in 1967. An even more poignant gesture after losing Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers in quick succession during the past few months.

The Line of Duty actor never fails to fly the flag for Celtic when the opportunity presents itself and Soccer aid was just another fine example.

The World XI on the night had players like Eric Cantona, Roberto Carlos and Usain Bolt!
