Celtic target Emam Ashour is not expected to sign a new deal with Al-Ahly as he pursues a move to Europe.

The Egyptian ace has been offered new terms by his club following a stellar World Cup as they look to ward off suitors.
We now understand manager Martin O’Neill has personally checked on his conditions as he weighs up numerous midfield options ahead of the new campaign. Camilo Duran has arrived in attack but O’Neill wants more signings in multiple different positions and a No.8 in the engine room is high on that list.

Al-Ahly know signing Ashour to a new contract would allow them to earn top dollar on any future transfer but we understand the versatile playmaker is looking to move on. We understand Champions League football at Parkhead is an attractive proposition for Ashour.
It is understood Coventry City are now in the hunt to land the 28-year-old with Frank Lampard also taking a personal interest. And, like Celtic with European football, the Premier League is also an exciting option for the ambitious star.
Celts have been told it would take around £4million to secure his services which is a figure not out of the realms of possibility for the Scottish giants.
The bhoys are currently in Portugal as part of their pre-season plans. They take on Sporting Lisbon this week in the Algarve. Celtic are only around three weeks away from openint their league campaign and with only one official signing in Camilo Duran, it’s really time to get a move on.
