After over a year out, Celtic look set to FINALLY welcome back Christopher Jullien into the fold.

It seems like forever since we watched Chris pull on the hoops and play for the club. It even seems like forever since the defender posted the sand timer emoji back in October — signalling his imminent return.

Ange has confirmed the Frenchman’s return from injury hasn’t been smooth sailing and setbacks have stopped the centre-back from being involved sooner.

Ange has told RecordSport he expects Jullien back during the winter break and he should be ready to return shortly after.

Postecoglou said: “He’s had a couple of little setbacks, but we are hoping now that he’s at a point where he’s ready to train fully with the team and make himself available.

“He’ll be a great addition, he’ll be like a new signing for us and we are looking forward to having him back.

“Definitely. He’s a good player, he’s very commanding, he’s very confident in himself.

“So we will get him involved and I’m sure he can add to us.”

Carl Starfelt had a rough December and will face stiff competition for a place in the side when Chris is back and fully fit.

The manager’s optimism surrounding Jullien’s return means he has to be in contention for the Glasgow Derby game at the start of February. The new years clash was moved due to government restrictions only allowing 500 fans into any stadium in Scotland.

The move could suit Jullien and give Celtic a massive boost for the derby.

Jullien scored the winner the last time Celtic beat The Rangers.
