CELTIC are in action today, playing a closed-door friendly against Rennes as the team gears up for the league’s return next Saturday.

Celtic have kept the training camp on the down-low, with very little content coming out of the club. In the one clip they released, we saw the new Bhoy Yuki Kobayashi train with his teammates.

The Daily Record report that Callum McGregor started the match, his first appearance since he picked up his knee injury in Celtic’s loss to RB Leipzig. Alongside the Celtic captain are some of Celtic’s key players, with Jota, Kyogo and Matt O’Riley all starting.

Moritz Jenz and Carl Starfelt are the central pairing, with Greg Taylor and Anthony Ralston also starting in front of Joe Hart.

It’s a strong team that Ange has fielded; he’ll be looking to see the best from his players ahead of the trip to Aberdeen.

Celtic will likely be without their World Cup stars for the trip to the North East, with Josip Juranovic still in the competition and the other players making it to the knockout stages; they’ll get a couple of weeks’ rest.
