MATT O’Riley has been called up to the Danish Under 21 squad for the upcoming international break after confirming he would play for the country.

Matt is eligible to play for Denmark and since his move to Celtic, his profile has already shot up within the game. It’s led to a call-up and a chance for him to show what he can do and earn a full squad call-up in the future.

Until a player has a first full cap, they can switch allegiance so long as they meet the criteria to play for multiple nations.

Matt sees his best chance of international football becoming a Danish international. What we’ve watched of the midfielder since coming to the club – he has a high ceiling and could do very well at international level.

We just hope when he does go out later in the month, Matt doesn’t suffer any injury setbacks. Celtic’s end to the season will be exciting and tense – we need all our top players available and ready for what lies ahead.
