Matt O’Riley had a short lived experience of the Glasgow Derby on Sunday. The midfielder came on as a second half substitute but had to go off shortly after coming on through injury.

The Danish under 21 international was unlucky not to start the match but Tom Rogic did get the nod on the day and made it count!

Matt has been brilliant for Celtic, so it was worrying to see him limp off with so many big games left between now and the end of the season.

Speaking after the match on Sunday, Ange moved to calm fans fears about the player and also delivered an update on Greg Taylor who also had to come off in the second half.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Ange said: “They shouldn’t be too bad. Greg was just cramp. Matty got a bit of a decent knock.

“He probably could’ve soldiered on but with the game being as it is and we’ve got a bench now that can make a difference, we thought we would take him off and just protect him.”

Celtic took a massive step towards the title with a win at Ibrox on Sunday. The bhoys conceded an early goal but showed their powers of recovery by getting back into the game almost immediately then taking the lead before half time.

Celtic still had the best chances of the second half but they did concede a lot of possession to the home side. The resolute nature of the Hoops defending frustrated Gio’s men who just couldn’t find a way through.

Celtic go into the final six SPFL games with a six point lead. There are still 18 points to play for – we can’t become complacent. To be honest, I don’t think there’s any chance of that happening under this Celtic manager.
