Matt O’Riley got his first assist of the season on Sunday afternoon at Celtic Park, setting up Stephen Welsh from a corner just three minutes in.

The goal came very quickly after the bhoys had unfurled the flag and Celtic fans has did their bit with an incredible opening day display.

The game finished 2-0; the bhoys having the best of the play against Aberdeen.

Matt O’Riley took a different tact and joked with Stephen that his big ‘meat head’ was easy to pick out.

Matt clearly has a good rapport with Stephen and it speaks to the good nature inside the Celtic dressing room.

Stephen played very well on the day, making sure he made the most of his opportunity while Carl Starfelt is out injured.

The Scottish born star has been subject to speculation surrounding a move away in recent weeks. When we attended the pre-match press conference on Friday, Ange made it clear he wanted to keep Welsh at the club.
