PSG beat Celtic comfortably on Tuesday, but Kylian Mbappe admitted his surprise at how hard they had to work.

It was 4-0 to the home side in the end who got off to a flyer thanks to the Frenchman, but Celtic came into the game and were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet against a star-studded lineup.

Speaking about the game, Kylian admitted he wasn’t expecting to ‘suffer’ as much as they did with Celtic making them work hard throughout the first half.

Mbappe reckons Celtic put the players into some difficulty and certainly helped the French side up their game.

“We feel better and better and we are happy to suffer. We know that, for what awaits us, we will need to suffer so it was welcome.” Mbappe told Premier Sports as cited by Glasgow live.

“Afterwards, maybe we didn’t expect it as much, but it’s good that we can suffer a little. It’s a good level match against a team that came to play and put us in difficulty. It’s good.”

Celtic played three games overall in France with one draw and two defeats. There were positives to take, but fitness was the key to the tour.

The bhoys kick off their ten in a row campaign at the start of August and must hit the ground running.
