Ex-Gers player/manager Alistair McCoist has giving Celtic the edge over the Ibrox team for tomorrow. For whatever it is worth McCoist believes that Celtic’s recent relentless history of winning at Hampden makes them slight favourites.

Speaking with Sky Sports ahead of tomorrow’s Hampden Showdown the BT Pundit had this to say:

“You would probably think that Celtic maybe have a slight edge just due to the fact that they have won so many trophies in a row recently,” he said. “They will probably, in my eyes, start slight favourites as they probably have more matchwinners in their squad than Rangers.”

The truth is that both teams are bang in form and there are so many variables at play it will take a bit more than just recent history deciding who wins this game. McCoist is right about Celtic possessing goal scorers all over the park while Rangers will put most of their eggs into the Moreles basket.

What does get overlooked is the number of times Celtic have battered Rangers ever since they made it into the top flight of Scottish Football. The media only focus on the gap and the gap been closed. Celtic fans focus on the trophies and the points on the board.

  1. A 2-2 draw with Aberdeen and lucky to leave Pittodrie with a point denotes ‘Bang in Form’ according to Fat Sally.

    Ermm, yeah… .. . .. next.
