During the summer transfer window, I think many fans would be surprised to hear that a few months down the line, goalkeeper Joe Hart would be seen as one of the best pieces of business down.

However, that is certainly the case with the Englishman making an impressive start to life between the sticks for the Hoops.

On Wednesday night, Hart made two massive saves in the game, which helped Ange Postecoglou’s side to their first three points at Easter Road since 2014.

Speaking in the aftermath of the 3-1 victory, Celtic captain Callum McGregor was quick to praise the shot-stopper as the midfielder insisted that the former England internationalist is precisely the sort of character who is brilliant to be around at Lennoxtown.

“Joe’s been first-class. At massive moments in the game, he made two brilliant saves,” he said as quoted by Sun Sport.

“Every single player congratulated him, but Joe just said, ‘That’s my job. I’ve got to keep the ball out of the net’.

“It shows how humble he is, too, which is brilliant. In those moments, you need big saves — and he’s been first-class at that.

“The standards he sets every day for the younger lads to follow is great. The importance of that can’t be overlooked.”

Before joining the club from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Hart didn’t have the best of times at several of his previous clubs.

From what he has produced so far for the Hoops, though, the move now looks like it was a match made in heaven.

Hopefully, we can continue to see him making that impact on the big stage and during a very important period of the winter schedule.
