The media is reporting Marian Shved has been ‘ditched’ by Ukraine and Andriy Shevchenko with the player not being on the A or B list to join up with his country next month for International duty.

The Celtic winger has been on the fringes of the Ukraine side for over a year. Marian has played 13 minutes of an international friendly back in 2018 but nothing else to this point.

SunSport suggests the player has been ‘ditched’ for the squad this time around but it looks like they have jumped the gun on this one.

Marian sustained an ankle injury during his last Ukranian training camp and had to come back to Celtic early. The player has been receiving treatment for the injury with the mystery being how severe it is. It’s highly presumptuous to claim he was ‘ditched’ considering we don’t have the full picture of the player’s circumstances.

Celtic have not been vocal on the issue with Marian being a squad player yet to make his full debut. The player has managed 20 minutes so far since the summer for the club and managed a goal in that time.
