MAIL SPORT is today reporting they have spoken to senior figures at Celtic who are ‘quietly confident’ of landing Vakoun Issouf Bayo while a medical has been booked for imminent arrival Timothy Weah.

The Bhoys have been stepping up their efforts to land fresh faces in January with Brendan Rodgers bringing Oliver Burke in over the weekend from West Brom.

They are now set to welcome Timothy Weah to Dubai where he will undergo a medical and meet his new teammates.

As for Bayo, we reported on Saturday he had started following Celtic on social media – when these things happen, more often than not, the player is set to join the club.

The Mail wrote: “Senior figures at the Parkhead club were quietly confident of completing a deal for the Ivory Coast Under-21 international this week.”

Brendan Rodgers told fans he wanted two strikers in during this window and it looks like he’s about to get his wish just a week into the new year.

Bay is set to cost the club around £2million and will be Celtic’s first permanent deal of the transfer window.
