GhanaSoccerNet are reporting Celtic will find out within the next 24 hours if they will be signing Gideon Mensah from Red Bull Salzburg.
The Ghana-born defender won many admirers over during a friendly with Real Madrid earlier in the summer after coming back from Sturm Graz on loan.
Mensah, 21, is being tipped only to be loaned out for the foreseeable future and wouldn’t be open for a permanent deal according to the same report.
If this is at all the case, and we’re really not sure it is, then the club have misread the frustration of the support.
If Celtic sign any projects on loan with no right to buy at the end of the term then the fans will not be happy at all. It’s imperative Celtic get things right over the next few days.
