CELTIC’S CHIEF EXECUTIVE Michael Nicholson has been appointed to the SPFL board this afternoon, replacing Ibrox chief Stewart Robertson.

The SPFL board for the new season has been appointed this afternoon and here is the full run down:

Michael Nicholson, Ron Gordon, James MacDonald, Les Gray, Graeme Mathie, Alastair Donald and Paul Hetherington

The board consists of three Premiership club reps, two Championship and two for league one and Two combined.

Michael’s influence on Celtic and Scottish football is growing. He’s been in the job not even a year to this point and he’s already making moves to look out for the club’s best interests.

Nicholson was appointed to the Celtic chief role on an interim basis when Dom McKay was not kept on after his three month probation period.

It was a incredible story at the time. Dom was tasked with taking the club forward and had a lot to say on the direction of the club. Ultimately, the board decided they didn’t want to continue with the former Rugby union man and replaced him with Michael.

We’re sure some of the usual suspects will moan about Celtic representing the SPFL board even though they had Robertson there beforehand.

  1. Does this appointment and Robertsons removal give Sevco the excuse to challenge everything that they don’t agree with ?
