MICHAEL OWEN has tipped Celtic to manage a draw in France this evening as the bhoys get ready to get their Euro campaign underway.

Neil Lennon is tasked with trying to combat a team who has come out the traps flying this term – much like Celtic but with Rennes having home advantage Celtic are seen as the underdogs for sure.

Michael Owen has been giving his Europa league tips for this evening’s fixtures and when he got around to Celtic the former Madrid striker gave Celtic a fighting chance and said he was impressed with Neil Lennon’s side after their Ibrox win.

Writing for the Express, Owen’s said: “I thought Celtic were excellent in the first Old Firm game of the season and expect them to pick up a valuable point in France,” Owen said.

“It won’t be easy of course against a Rennes side who beat PSG 2-1 earlier in the season and who currently sit second in the French Ligue 1 table after a goalless draw in the Breton derby at Brest at the weekend.

“Tip: Game to finish in a draw.”

Odsonne Edouard will lead the line tonight as the striker returns to France looking to prove a point. Other French bhoys Jullien and Ntcham could also play a pivotal role in proceedings.

Neil Lennon has shown he can adapt the team’s style to suit a particular game but it will be more experimental this evening as Celtic come up against a system they aren’t used to playing against.

Celtic need to nullify Rennes in the early going if they’re to stand any chance of getting a result.
