CELTIC semi-final hero Ryan Christie has told fans he will NOT be looking elsewhere for a new club while he’s in talks with the bhoys over a new deal.

Christie was the super sub at Murrayfield; winning a penalty, setting up the second and scoring a sensational third.

There were many before yesterday who were resigned to losing the player come the summer with his Celtic deal coming to an end.

The player has had limited chances and it seemed unlikely a new deal would be offered.

However, Rodgers confirmed yesterday the club were in talks with Ryan’s representatives.

Now the midfielder has double confirmed it after his Edinburgh Heroics and hopes to have signed a new deal within weeks.

“Yes, we’re still talking. I don’t know where it will go from here but we’ll see in a few weeks.

“I’m hopeful, of course. I love playing for Celtic, I love being at this football club. I won’t be looking elsewhere until it’s sorted.

“It’s what I’m looking to do, to make an impact when I get my chance.”

Christie still has it all to prove but his performance on Sunday certainly entitles the player to get a proper chance.

  1. I’ve always liked this laddie and he has a brain for football but thought he needed to bulk up a bit…Aberdeen were desperate to sign him after his loan spell and they are definitely missing him in the side this season so don’t see it as a gamble to extend his contract…

  2. I have always liked Christie, some times i thought he was going fall away but our manager seen some thing in him and now plays him in the right area where he can play free with out fear and now he is shown what he is all about sign him up as soon as…
