IT has emerged in the last few hours that Celtic’s pursuit of Jack Hendry and Scott Bain are very much on. But the latter deal for the goalkeeper seemingly will only be completed if Hibernian can broker a deal with Celtic on Scott Allan.

It’s a tangled web on deadline day. Here is what is happening behind the scenes.

  • Celtic want Scott Bain from Dundee who is currently on-loan at Hibernian.
  • Dundee want Hibernian forward Simon Murray on-loan.
  • Hibs want Celtic’s Scott Allan on-loan or permanent deal who is currently at Dundee.

Are you following?

So with so many players futures involved it’s taking a bit of time to sort everything out. Dundee want fire power and Hibs want Scott Allan back at the club where he has played his best football.

Celtic need an extra pair of hands in Scott Bain to see them through to the end of the season with regards to goalkeeper cover.

The club originally wanted Trevor Carson from Motherwell but the Steelmen have rejected two bids for their number one keeper.

Celtic’s pursuit of Jack Hendry is a little more straight forward. We believe a fee is just about agreed and the player should be a Celt by this evening, all going well.

Famous last words!

  1. I just wish we had £7/9 million coming in from Chinese club who’s name changed overnight, we just can’t match that club when it comes buying low selling high, I wish I supported such a wealthy well run institution, never mind I’ll struggle on with Celtic and hope our fortunes suffer an upturn soon
