It has to go down as one of the most pointless transfers in recent times and that’s why it’s no surprise this morning that Marian Shved is being linked with a move back to his old club.

According to SunSport, Karpaty Lviv have enquired about the player returning to Ukraine on an initial loan deal in time for next season.

The winger has had very few opportunities all season. Neil Lennon has cited a lack of effort in training as well as a language barrier as reasons why Shved has never been given much game time.

Signed under Brendan Rodgers, the transfer seemed ill-fated from the start when the now Leicester boas was told we were signing Marian via the media and he deflated he had enough wingers.

Celtic fans had big hopes for Marian after seeing what he could do in various video clips. With Celtic looking to trim the squad for next season, it’s likely a deal will be struck to let the player return to his home country.
