MIKAEL LUSTIG pulled the curtain down on his illustrious, trophy-laden career this month after finishing up with AIK in his native Sweden.

The Celtic icon left the club after the treble treble season. His final major contribution was to head the ball through to an on rushing Odsonne Edouard at Hampden for the winning goal against Hearts in the Scottish cup final.

During Mikael’s Celtic career, he was a massive figure on the pitch and a brilliant character in the dressing room. He was a well known prankster and that bled through into celebrations and on-field antics at times.

The classic police hat celebration when the Swede pinched the headgear off an unsuspecting on duty officer is up there. Also, pointing to Ibrox player James Murphy and telling him Murphy he was already in his back pocket.

Lustig and Scott Brown were the best of friends and fed off each other throughout their Celtic careers.

As Lustig retires, the Celtic icon wrote this message to Celtic fans and to all the clubs he’s been lucky enough to play for over the piece.
