Celtic invincible hero Mikael Lustig is hanging up his boots it has been confirmed by his current club AIK.

The iconic former Celtic star spent almost ten years at the club and was part of some outstanding Celtic sides, no bigger than the Brendan Rodgers invincible treble winners.

After the treble treble win at Hampden, where Mikael set up the winning goal for Odsonne Edouard, the Celtic star left the club to pursue a new challenge at Gent before heading back to Sweden with AIK.

The defender has now called it time on his trophy-laden career at the age of 35.

Mikael was not just a great player and servant for the club, his ability to wind up the opposition and be a positive influence in the Celtic dressing room was brilliant.

The Swede and former Celtic captain Scott Brown got up to plenty of mischief together during their time at the club.

We wish the big man all the best in his retirement
