MIKAEL LUSTIG has tonight posted a farewell message to the Celtic support. The defender confirming he will NOT be playing with the club going forward and the treble treble win was his last game.

Meaning one of his final acts as a Celtic player was to setup the winning goal when his header put Odsonne Edouard through on goal.

The Swede wrote the message below.

Great stuff from a man who came into Celtic an unknown – eight years and sixteen trophies later and he’s firmly cemented himself as a Celtic icon.

We wish him all the best in his future adventures. The player has been linked with a move to Belgium but also has contract offers in his homeland of Sweden. Celtic have to go about replacing the defender with only one recognised right back in Anthony Ralston going into the Champions League qualifiers.

The club need to move quick to avoid any potential slip ups in their race for a place in the group stage.

  1. Sadly there is no mention of the most important people! THE FANS!! Yes he took some stick and at times through it becoming “the norm” as fans do mymic others something i hate but is poor he didnt mention THE FANS WE ARE THE CLUB AS THEY ARE US!! HE SHOULD REALISE THIS BUT REGARDLESS GOOD LUCK TO HIM HE WAS A DECENT SERVANT THO WELL REWARDED FOR BEING SO, ESPECIALLY THROUGH HIS MANY INJURIES. HAIL HAIL

    • I think we can take it as read that he includes the fans when he thanked “all of you who made Glasgow feel like home for me and my family”.
He was also far more than just a ‘decent’ servant to Celtic…a huge influence around the dressing room and integral to everything the club has achieved in his time here.
Over the piece,a brilliant servant…a true professional with real quality.
It’s been a pleasure to watch him wear the hoops….good luck wherever you go Mika Lustig ☘☘☘
