MIKAEL LUSTIG’S Celtic career looks like it’s in the rear view mirror this morning with RecordSport reporting the Swede is travelling to Belgium to undergo a medical with Europa League side Gent.

The Swede spoke late last week of a new deal being unlikely at Celtic after a breakdown in talks between himself and the club.

Many believed Lustig would head back home to Sweden after leaving Celtic but the treble treble winner looks set for a new adventure in the Belgian top flight.

The defender has spent eight years at Celtic averaging two trophies per season. His trophy haul is quite incredible and his final proper act as a Celtic player was to assist Odsonne Edouard in his Scottish Cup final winning goal to land the treble treble.

There’s not a Celtic fan out there that won’t wish Mikael and his family the best for the future. He has been a great servant, a great character and a winner.
