Neil Lennon has delivered some bad news on Thursday afternoon with his update on Mikey Johnston.

The player limped off against St Johnstone not long after coming in as a second half sub. At the time, Neil Lennon was irate because Mikey let the manager use his last substitute before declaring he couldn’t go on. This left Celtic down time 10 men for the last few minutes.

Neil Lennon’s update today is not good news for Mikey.

“It will be long term. It was a bad twist.” He told RecordSport.

“It looks like he has twisted the knee and there is a bit of swelling there and ligament damage.”

Mikey is just getting back from injury and now this setback will mean he’s missed a lot of the season sitting on the treatment table.

Celtic have to left sided midfielders out injured now with Moi still not available. Will Daniel Arzani get a chance to impress? Or will Neil Lennon continue and go all in with a 3-5-2.

It’s going to be interesting how the manager deals with the latest injury.
