CELTIC striker Leigh Griffiths was subject to at least one missile being thrown by a Motherwell fan during Celtic’s 4-0 win over the home side on Wednesday night.

Leigh was getting set to take a free kick at the side of the pitch where the Motherwell ultras are seated and the BT Sports camera’s caught at least one item being thrown at the Celtic player during the game.

The object bounced in front of Griffiths as he prepared a free-kick

SunSport report the stewards quickly come into view to try and stop anything else from being thrown onto the pitch.

There is so much of this in the Scottish game at the moment and it’s not wanted. Some of our fans aren’t entirely innocent either.

It’s beyond me how someone thinks it’s okay to throw anything at a player while they’re doing their job. It crosses the line and could do some serious damage.

It’s hard to identify what was thrown at Leigh here, thankfully it missed him anyway.
