STEPHEN WELSH is missing from the Celtic squad as the side prepares to take on Ross County in the Highlands.

Moritz Jenz is handed his first Celtic start, with Carl Starfelt returning to the bench after he picked up an injury with his country in June.

Despite Ange not mentioning an injury to Stephen Welsh, to be excluded like he has been suggests that the defender has picked up a knock.

He was superb at the weekend against Aberdeen, and many fans expected Ange to name the same defensive lineup.

The Scotland Under-21 captain has been the subject of interest from clubs over the past few windows, but Celtic’s stance is clear – they do not want to sell the player.

Celtic’s Summer Signings Bearing Fruit

With Ange strengthening the side this summer, he can replace players with quality rather than ask players to play out of position or call up some youth players who aren’t ready for the first-team exposure.

It’ll be good to see Moritz Jenz play in Dingwall after showing some promising signs in pre-season.
