Johan Mjallby was fantastic as a player for Celtic and he’s been just as good as assistant manager to Neil Lennon in the last four years.

The 43 year old has been there for the high and the lows side by side with Neil Lennon, but he admits he would one day like to take charge at a club. Especially in Sweden’s top flight.

“It would excite me in the future to lead my own team, but right now I’m satisfied with the situation in Celtic.

“I would move back to Sweden to work as a head coach of a team. I can always imagine working for the national team. I follow them very carefully.”

The former defender has strong ties with AIK and hasn’t ruled out coaching them in the future but admits that right now he would turn down any role offered because he still has work to do at Celtic.

“I would also definitely be able to imagine managing AIK. But I would not say ‘yes’ today. I’m always associated with AIK but many people forget that I have worked longer at Celtic.

The big Swede definitely has the temperament and stature to become a good manager in his own right one day. But we hope it’s not too soon.
