CHRIS BUNGARD has revealed “it’s nuts” after the fighter was congratulated for his first-round win at the weekend by Conor McGregor and some of the Celtic players.
Bungard, 30, is a massive Celtic fan and has been seen in pictured with Kieran Tierney and Dedryck Boyata in recent months in the lead up to his fight with Terry Brazier.
It was an incredible promotional debut by the MMA fighter who tapped out his opponent in the first round.
Speaking after the fight, Bungard was grateful for all the messages he received.
“Conor McGregor messaged me and a lot of the Celtic players did as well. That’s nuts that these guys are happy that I’ve won.”
“I was lying in my bed that night and Conor messaged me saying congratulations. Obviously he was watching me from over in America.
“I just feel like this is the beginning. I’m getting better but I’ve still got some areas I need to improve.
“I always say: Progression not perfection. I stole that from Denzel Washington!”
Outstanding from the fighter who clearly remains humble as he looks to progress to the next level. After his visit to Paradise last month the Scotsman tweeted this out to his social media following.

We will be watching Chris’ progress closely and it’s safe to say, he has gained a lot of new fans in green and white the past few months.
