CELTIC were said to be close to completing a deal with Hammarby for their left-back Mohanad Jeahze, with multiple outlets from Scotland and Sweden reporting talks are at an advanced stage.

However, despite Celtic’s clear interest, having reportedly scouted the Iraqui international, Hammarby has claimed they’ve received no contact from Celtic.

The club’s sporting director, Jesper Jansson, has claimed that Celtic are yet to enter negotiations with the club, saying; [Fotboll Direkt]

“No, that’s not true. We have not heard anything from Celtic.”

This contradicts reports that claimed Celtic were in the final stages of negotiating a deal.

Of course, Celtic could be working with the player to determine whether he would be open to moving to the Scottish champions before submitting a bid to the club. This is quite common in football.

However, it doesn’t seem like Ange is ready to announce his first summer signing, by the sounds of things.

With discussions ongoing with Jota and Carter-Vickers, it looks set to be a busy start for Celtic’s summer window, hopefully anyway.

Now that the league is beyond doubt, Ange will turn his attention to the summer and identify targets that he wishes to bring to Celtic.
