There was never any real chat of Moi Elyounoussi coming back for a third season on loan but the midfielder has confirmed he won’t be returning to Celtic with an emotional Instagram post.
The Norwegian sent a message to the supporters as he looks to the future away from Celtic.
Moi is a treble winner with Celtic and was a top player on his day.
Injury and inconsistency plagued him while at the Hoops. There was always flashes of brilliance and he scored some great goals in Europe.
Moi’s next move in football is unclear, he might try to breakthrough into the Southampton side or he could look elsewhere for first team football.
Celtic have a new manager in and are going in a new direction. Ironically, Moi seems like a player Ange Postecoglou would love!
Last season wasn’t ideal for anyone, but as Moi says, we move on and we go again.
Hopefully next season we can get back to where we belong.
