Journalist Derek McGregor confirmed what many of us knew already that Odsonne Edouard is set to leave this summer.

Speaking on the Celtic Huddle Podcast hosted by Mark Wilson, McGregor explained the move is certain to happen but if Eddy wants to leave with a bang he needs to turn up this weekend and put Celtic’s Glasgow rivals to the sword.

McGregor said said: “I think he’s a couple of months away from leaving Celtic so now [in the Scottish Cup Derby] is the optimum time for Edouard to deliver.

“If he’s wanting to have as good an option as possible to leave Celtic – and I think it’s almost certain he’s going to be sold – then these are the games he has to turn up and deliver in.”

“Is it certain? Pretty much, yes.”

It’s been the worst kept secret in football.

Edouard’s time will come to an end after this season is in the books.

It’s more a case of how much will we get for the striker than anything else. There has been speculation of low ball offers coming our way — but even with just one-year left on the Frenchman’s Celtic deal, we must demand a high fee.

Patryk Klimala looks like he’ll be out the door shortly barring paperwork issues. The Polish striker has hopped on a plane to the states to finalise a move to the MLS.

Griffiths contract is still up in the air too.

Celtic’s strike force will look very different next season.

  1. We are hardly likely to get a good fee for Klimala if He has “hopped on a plane” to get there! When was he injured?
    Just asking for a friend.
